Terms of Use

These Terms govern the use of Vila’s website and the forms currently available through it. At this stage, the website does not allow users to complete bookings or make payments for services.

Last updated: 18 October 2026

Project currently developed by

1. Who we are

Vila is a project aimed at creating a support network for families, currently developed by Ana Rita Pereira de Freitas and Afonso de Sousa Magalhães e Castro.

At this stage, the website allows users to learn about the project, view the planned support areas, submit support requests, apply to Vila’s professional network and contact the Vila team.

The legal structure responsible for Vila’s commercial operation may change before paid services are launched. If this happens, these Terms and the other legal documents will be updated.

2. Scope of these Terms

These Terms apply to browsing and using somosavila.pt and the functionality made available through it.

Use of the website requires compliance with these Terms and applicable law.

This version of the Terms does not govern the purchase of paid services through Vila.

3. Current stage of the service

Vila is currently in a development phase and is building its professional network.

At this stage, the website does not allow users to complete a booking, enter into a service contract or make a payment to Vila.

Information concerning services, support areas, future processes or other characteristics of the platform may be adjusted before commercial launch.

Before bookings or payments are enabled, the applicable commercial conditions will be made available, including information on pricing, payment, cancellations, refunds and service delivery.

4. Support requests

Submitting a support request allows Vila to understand the need described and, where appropriate, contact you.

Submitting the form does not constitute a booking, create an obligation to purchase or pay for a service, or guarantee the availability of a particular professional or service.

Vila may review the request and contact you to obtain additional information, clarify the need described or explain the next steps.

Any future service proposal will be subject to the conditions applicable when that proposal is made.

5. Professional applications

Submitting an application to Vila’s professional network only starts a review process and does not guarantee admission to the network.

Vila may request additional information, documents, references, an interview or other checks appropriate to the professional activity concerned.

No professional may receive support requests through Vila without completing the applicable verification process.

Submitting or reviewing an application does not, by itself, create an employment relationship, partnership, agency, representation, exclusivity arrangement or other contractual relationship between Vila and the applicant.

If a professional joins the network, that relationship will be governed by the conditions and agreements applicable at that stage.

6. Information provided by users

When using Vila’s forms, you should provide information that is accurate, current and relevant to the purpose of the form.

You must not provide false information, impersonate another person or unlawfully use another person’s data.

Where you provide information about another person, you should limit it to what is necessary and ensure that you have a legitimate basis for providing it.

In particular, please do not provide medical records, identification documents, children’s dates of birth or other sensitive information that is not necessary.

7. Appropriate use of the website

The website must be used lawfully and consistently with its intended purpose.

  • you must not use the forms for spam, fraud, harassment, threats or other unlawful activities;
  • you must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems, databases, accounts, credentials or technical areas belonging to Vila;
  • you must not introduce or distribute malicious code, abusive automation or mechanisms intended to disrupt the operation of the website;
  • you must not use Vila content in a misleading way or in a manner that suggests an association, authorisation or representation that does not exist.

8. Information available on the website

We aim to keep the information presented on the website clear and up to date, but the project is evolving and certain content may change.

Website content is general and informational and does not replace an individual assessment by an appropriately qualified professional.

Information relating to health, parenting, rights, wellbeing or other specialist matters should not be interpreted as individual medical, legal or professional advice.

In urgent or emergency situations, the appropriate emergency services or professionals should be used rather than Vila’s general forms.

9. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the content, text, structure, graphic elements, visual identity, design and original materials presented on the website belong to the people responsible for the Vila project or are used with permission from the relevant rights holders.

You may view and use the website for personal and legitimate purposes related to using Vila.

Reproduction, commercial exploitation, distribution, adaptation or substantial use of Vila content without permission is not allowed unless permitted by law.

10. Third-party services and websites

The website may provide links or functionality associated with third-party services, such as WhatsApp or other technology providers.

Those services are operated by their respective providers and may be subject to their own terms, privacy policies and conditions of use.

Providing a link to an external service does not mean that Vila controls or is responsible for the operation of that service.

11. Availability and security

We aim to keep the website available, secure and functional, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may temporarily suspend functionality for maintenance, error correction, updates, security or other technical or operational needs.

We may also limit or block submissions showing signs of spam, abuse, improper automation or attempts to compromise the security of the service.

12. Liability

Vila does not seek to exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

To the extent permitted by law, the people responsible for the project are not liable for temporary unavailability, communication network failures or problems affecting third-party services that are outside their reasonable control.

Users are responsible for how they use the website and for the accuracy of the information they choose to provide.

Nothing in these Terms affects any rights granted to users under mandatory law.

13. Privacy and cookies

The processing of personal data through the website is explained in Vila’s Privacy Policy.

The use of cookies and analytics technologies is explained in Vila’s Cookie Policy.

Analytics is optional and is only activated where a valid choice allowing it exists.

14. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated as Vila evolves, when new functionality is introduced or where changes are required for legal, technical or operational reasons.

When Vila introduces bookings, payments or service contracts, these Terms will be reviewed and the applicable commercial conditions will be made available before any contract is entered into.

The date of the most recent update will be displayed on this page.

15. Applicable law and contact

These Terms are governed by Portuguese law, without prejudice to any mandatory rules applicable to the user.

Any matter will be handled by the competent authorities or courts in accordance with applicable law, without prejudice to rights legally granted to consumers.

For questions concerning these Terms or use of the website, you can contact Vila at ola@somosavila.pt.
